The Company
BERROCAL & ASSOCIADOS is a geophysical company founded in july 2007 inside the Technology Business Incubator Center (CIETEC), within University of São Paulo campus.The company has as partners University of São Paulo itself, SEBRAE, CNPq-MCT (Ministry of Science and Technology), among others. Initially founded with only 3 members, the company counts with 11 members today: three PhDs in geophysics, one PhD in eletrical engineering, one PhD stutend in geophysics, one geologist, one electronic technician and four interns from the Geophysical and Astronomic Institute (IAG-USP) bachelor degree course.
The main purpose in founding BERROCAL & ASSOCIADOS and assembling this specialized group, was to supply the lack of companies that provide geophysical services in Brazil. For instance, seismographic monitoring, evaluation of seismic risk, participation in large geotectonic projects, among others and development of geophysical high quality equipment and advanced technology as well
